Breaking the SILENCE
December 21, 2013
A lot has been going on since the last post! I traveled to Mexico last week to look at a boat. We put in an offer on said boat. I returned to the States and came down with the worst FLU of my life. We renovated our master bath.
San Carlos, Mexico is a nice little town just a short hop from Phoenix. I flew into Hermosillo and then rented a car to get down to San Carlos. The car rental process was quite laborious and I ended up signing and initialing more documents than I did to purchase our current house. Mexicans love their paperwork! I got into San Carlos in the mid afternoon. My appointment to see the boat wasn’t until the following morning but I just couldn’t wait. I made my way over the Marina Guaymas (dirt lot in another town about 12 miles from San Carlos) and talked the security guard into letting me on the property to check her out. When I laid eyes on her it was L-O-V-E. I am going to reserve posting any more photos of her or going into any additional detail for now.
We have a current offer pending and I just don’t want to jinx anything. As I always promise, details on any solid developments will be updated with a new post!
I got back early afternoon the following day and felt normal. Later in the evening I was anything but normal. As I was going to bed that night, I knew something just wasn’t right. 2-3 days/nights of HELL ensued. I had fevers, chills, headaches, sweating, nausea, and every other flu like symptom you can think of. 7 days later, as I write this, I can tell you I’m just now approaching the 90% of well being.
We did a little remodel on our bathroom counter, as it was previously 1997 plasticky vintage with severe yellowing, chipping, and hard water stains. I will go on the record to say it is not FUN spending money on these types of things, but we feel it will help us maximize top $ when the house goes on the market.
